We're Here For You!

Senior Pastor Marc Reeves

Salvation Experience:
A friend invited me to revival at New Friendship Baptist Church. I attended with them and realized that without Jesus I would spend eternity in a terrible place called Hell. I continued attending the revival and Thursday night at the conclusion of the service the Preacher (Wayne Faulkner) asked those who needed to be saved to come to the front. I came forward and told him I didn’t want to go to Hell and I needed to be saved. He led me in a time of prayer where I admitted I was a sinner and asked Jesus to be my Savior. I was 16 years old and though there have been many ups and downs in my life, I have never forgotten what Jesus did for me that night. Each day I seek to grow closer to Him and I know that one day I will be with Him forever in Heaven!

Ministry Background:

I didn’t grow up in church. I joined Oak Grove Baptist Church in 1981 at 20 years old. During my time there I served as a deacon, teacher, assistant treasurer, youth teacher, adult teacher, VBS worker, along with anything else that needed to be done. I surrendered to the Gospel ministry in a revival there in 1997 and was licensed shortly thereafter. I was ordained to the Gospel Ministry at Immanuel Baptist Church in 1998 and have been pastoring ever since. Feeling the need to be the best prepared I could for ministry I quit my full time job and attended Mid-America for a year and then finished my Masters in Divinity (MDiv) at Southwestern Baptist in Fort Worth. I received a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) from New Orleans Baptist in 2011.

Favorite Bible Verse:

John 14:1-5. I love how Jesus assures us that He is the way, the truth, and the life. That He has prepared a place for us and one day we will be there with Him forever.

Favorite Sports Team:

Hobbies/Activities:

I enjoy my grandchildren. Recently I have taken up landscape painting and thoroughly enjoy it. My wife Loretta and I enjoy traveling every chance we get. I only lack 11 states to see all 50 and have been to Brazil, Mexico, Honduras, Ireland, Great Britain, and Scotland.

Favorite Color:

Some would say that I am kind of color blind. But I like shades of blue.

Favorite Meal:

Anyone can tell by looking at me that I really like “all food” but probably the most favorite is my mother’s lemon meringue pie.
